Liam Collins

Liam Collins

A UK Artist who has dedicated his career to a life-long process working with and exhibiting art and site-specific sculpture, made from precious metals and found materials. His work includes influences from Astrophysicists to the historical ancient worlds.

His creativity is drawn from his unusual life experiences. Raised in children’s homes as an abandoned child, to being kidnapped and spirited abroad where at 12 years old, was forced to beg on the streets of Athens to survive. Smuggled away on a boat to Crete, he lived in the Caves of Minoan Tombs in Matala living off the land. Spending 3 years living amongst wanted people and German Hippies, he found solace in the ancient monuments around him, nature and the sky at night. Liam eventually hitchhiked back from Greece through communist Yugoslavia all the way to London by himself at 14 years old.

Amongst many other projects, His recent Cicada Guitar sound piece that has just showcased at the Lighthouse Gallery in Wolverhampton and featured at the Cotswold Sculpture Park exhibition, UK. 2019 and the espacio galley brick lane, London. He is now looking to expand his horizons into areas that may reflect the deeper meanings and connectivity between philosophy with nature and the quantum world of expression.

About Work

If you are bored at home and want to escape from isolation into a creative, virtual world of entertainment, then art like this is for you! During quarantine, why not make art that represents old school, intelligent, home entertainment? Oxo Rubik Cubism. is another form conjured up from Collins subconscious mind.  It is a thought-provoking idea based loosely on nostalgia but with a scientific twist guaranteed to lighten the monotony of isolation. It is a concept applied from the Duchamps and Dada movement, ironically, it is in itself a type of cubism by the nature of the material used. It is also an original concept employed by the appropriation art style. There are no restrictions or conformity with his methods of creativity, he is a  slave to his subconscious creative mind.
